Student Employment Application Process
Student candidates for employment should complete the and submit it to the Tiernan Field House (TFH) at [email protected] along with a current resume. Upon selection, TFH supervisors will conduct an interview. If you should be selected for hire, proper documentation must be completed with the Human Resources and the Financial Aid Offices, where appropriate for eligibility.

Note: All Tiernan Field House (TFH) student staff members are required to be CPR/AED/first aid certified within one month of hire at a minimum.
Tiernan Field House Student Positions
TFH Coordinator
TFH Coordinators assist in the daily operation of the Tiernan Field House and are responsible for the supervision of staff, programs, and services during designated hours. Applicants must be familiar with the building and its equipment, policies, programs, and services. In addition, this position requires an understanding of the mission and philosophy of the field house and its partnerships with the consortium.
Candidates must possess critical-thinking and decision-making skills, be prepared to serve as a facilitator of programs and services, alongside supervising student staff during designated hours/ programs.
Peer Health Educator
The Peer Health Educators are responsible for assisting in the development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellness programs. This includes: educational outreach, prevention, and intervention strategies.
Bike Shop Manager
The Bike Shop Manager oversees the operations, maintenance, and staff of the Green Bike program. The manager is responsible for maintaining business operations, hiring, training, and scheduling of bike technicians. Additionally, the manager will maintain repair records for all Green Bikes, as well as manage the semester loan program.
Lifeguard Coordinator
The Lifeguard Coordinators work closely with the professional staff to develop and implement lifeguard in-services, and enhance day to day communication to ensure a safe environment for the TFH patrons. They may assist with hiring of student staff as well.
Lifeguard
Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons, which includes: surveillance, accident prevention, and performance of the emergency action plans in the water and adjacent pool areas.
TFH Lifeguards are required to have current certifications from the American Red Cross in lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and first aid.
Customer Service Associate
The Customer Service Associate will provide high-quality customer service for all patrons and will serve as the initial point of contact for information sharing, memberships, and guest services.
Group Fitness Instructor
The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for the safe and effective instruction of group exercise classes for participants with varying fitness levels in a fitness center environment. This position ensures the safe practice of exercise for members/ guests through observation, correction, assistance, and answering questions.聽Positions include instruction in spinning, kickboxing, and aqua fitness (water aerobics, water Zumba, etc.).
Bike Tech
The Bicycle Technician will help repair and maintain bikes within the Green Bike program. Bike Techs will also teach and assist students with repairing bikes.
Marketing Assistant
The Marketing Assistant will help disseminate information regarding programs, services, and resources to students, faculty and staff through webpage design, social media, and other advertising strategies.
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of specialized administrative and office support functions, alongside performing related assigned duties.
