Spotlight on Faculty: Ethan Van Arnam, Assistant Professor of Chemistry

This fall, five new tenure-track faculty members joined ÎåÔÂÌìÊÓÆµ, including Ethan Van Arnam, who is an assistant professor of chemistry at the W. M. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and ÎåÔÂÌìÊÓÆµs. Van Arnam grew up in southeastern Connecticut and received his BA in chemistry from Bowdoin College in 2007. He completed his PhD in chemistry at Caltech in 2013, where he studied chemical interactions between drugs and their protein targets.

The ÎåÔÂÌìÊÓÆµExperience: The Babes and Blankets CLORG

Babes and Blankets, the club/organization (CLORG at Scripps), meets weekly to knit and crochet blankets, scarves, and other yarn crafts, which they then donate to local nonprofit organizations and groups in need. Babes and Blankets partners with Binky Patrol, which gives baby blankets to hospitals, and the Red Scarf Project, which provides scarves to foster youth in college, among others.
