For Megan Robalewski 鈥�20, good design begins with confronting the people, ideas, and agendas that the design is serving. This concept, which originated in the field of human-centered design (HCD), is what led her to New York this past summer, where she compiled research on New York City Transit Authority.

Allison Joseph ’20 Sets Stage for Change through Activist Theater

Using activist theater, the 鈥淚deal Woman鈥� workshop explored women鈥檚 traditional and cultural roles in their communities. By the end of the workshop, armed with newfound confidence and creative props they鈥檇 made from nature, her students performed a five-act play which tackled issues they faced in their day-to-day lives, from navigating difficult relationships with their fathers to not being allowed to play sports with their male classmates.
