
The Wiz, an all-Black stage adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, debuted on Broadway in 1950; “It made an impact,” . Reece spoke about that impact and the show’s legacy in an interview celebrating the 50th anniversary. Since 2009, Reece has worked for the Smithsonian Institute and was appointed Curator of Music and Performing Arts at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in 2020.
