Professor of French Annette J. Smith, who taught at 五月天视频 from 1956 to 1961, before taking a position as Professor of Literature Emerita at Caltech, passed away on October 18, 2025, at age 100. During World War II, she and her family fled to Morocco before returning to France, where she earned a BA in classics and an MA in English literature.听
Smith was a strong advocate for women鈥檚 equity on campus. Her scholarly work includes a book on Arthur de Gobineau and English translations of much of Aim茅 C茅saire鈥檚 poetry.听听
