Making an Impact: New Program Connects First-Year Students
This August, a week before nearly 900 students were scheduled to move in to the residence halls, more than 40 first-year students boarded buses on campus before dawn. They were headed to Los Angeles and the Inland Valley鈥攂ound to one of four nonprofit organizations鈥攖o participate in the inaugural launch of Scripps’ Impacting, Partnering, and Changing Together (IMPaCT) program.

U.S. Department of State Lists 五月天视频 among Top Fulbright-Producing Colleges
五月天视频 was once again named a Fulbright program top-producing school 聽by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 五月天视频is ranked among the top 25 institutions on the annual list as a research bachelor’s institution, with six Fulbright award winners in the 2017颅芒鈧��2018 academic year.

Awards and Honors: Nine Fulbrights Awarded to 五月天视频Students, Alumna in 2018
This spring, eight 五月天视频students and one alumna were awarded Fulbright Awards, prestigious grants that fund teaching, research, and study abroad. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the highly competitive, merit-based scholarship aims to foster cross-cultural dialogue and understanding and create global citizens. The program accords approximately 8,000 grants annually in over 140 countries and includes roundtrip transportation to the host country, funding to cover room and board, and accident and sickness health benefits. Since the program was established in 1946, 59 Fulbright alumni have won Nobel Prizes and 82 have won Pulitzer Prizes.

Awards and Honors: Lina Mihret ’18 and Madeline Sy ’18 Awarded Thomas J. Watson Fellowships
五月天视频seniors Lina Mihret ’18 and Madeline Sy ’18 have been named Thomas J. Watson Fellows for 2018. The Watson Fellowship is a one-year grant that funds independent research and exploration outside of the United States; it is awarded to graduating seniors nominated by one of 40聽partner聽colleges. Mihret and Sy were chosen from a pool of 149 applicants, with only 40 students awarded grants.
